Brincando com Pitágoras

PYTHAGOREAN ALLEGORY

And the world, now, seems square even to                                            those who abuse the hypotenuse!!

Silvio Persivo

Pythagoras, the wise man, thought from diverse angles,

He lived surrounded by triangles, but nothing loving.

He thought numbers were the primordial essence,

Of life, of the universe, of the universal whole.

However, I confess that I know little of his theories,

Even though I am inspired by his visionary ideas.

For music, according to him, must have proportions,

And, on this point, this apprentice has the same illusions.

Ah, Pythagoras, how your figure fascinates me,

And to found a religious community, what a fate!

I also know nothing about the transmigration of souls,

Although for those who know of the beyond, I applaud!

I know I will never be a master or leave a legacy,

Even if surrounded by books and words, embraced.

For my pleasure is wine, the gentle intoxication,

The way to elevate myself and wisdom is not for me.

Yes, I know wine is a philosophy in its essence,

A nectar that ennobles, awakens the conscience.

I don't even know if he drank it or much of what he did

And we are alike, as far as I know, only in not speaking English!
