THE BODY IS THE CAUSE OF LOVE

Yehuda Amichi

The body is the cause of love;

after that, the fortress that protects it;

after that, love's prision.

But when the body dies, love is set free

in wild abundance,

like a slot machine that breaks down

and with a furious ringing pours out all at once

all the coins of

all the generations of luck.

O CORPO É A CAUSA DO AMOR

O corpo é a causa do amor;

depois, a fortaleza que o protege;

depois disto, a prisão do amor.

Porém, quando o corpo morre, o amor é libertado

em selvagem abundância,

como uma máquina caça-níqueis que quebra

e com um furioso rangido derrama tudo de uma vez

todas as moedas de

todas as gerações de sorte.
